Farmers' Day is celebrated on the first Friday of December, which fell on December 6, 2024. However, due to the elections, the celebration was also held on November 8, 2024, although this date was not declared a statutory public holiday
The celebration aims to recognize the significance of agriculture and fishing in Ghana's economic growth. It's a day to honor farmers and fishermen for their efforts in feeding the nation and contributing to the country's prosperity. Theme for 2024 ” Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Food Security”.
The Wassa Amenfi East organizes the celebration, which includes a program of activities such as prizes awarded to deserving farmers and fishers, and a municipal Farmers Forum where award winners can meet policymakers and experts on technological advances in the agricultural sector.
